Murugappa opens its first agri retail store

The Chennai-based Murugappa Group has rolled out its first agri retail store named ‘Mana Gromor’ at Sattanpali in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. This marks the entry of Murugappa Group in the retail industry.

The company will roll out 100 Mana Gromor stores; each store will cost over Rs. 25 lakh. These stores will come up in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. The company aims to service about 5,000 farmers living in 50 villages surrounding the shop.

Besides various agri-inputs like seeds, fertilisers and pesticides ,these shops will also provide credit to farmers. Such stores will also impart education and training to farmers on soil condition, water management, crop timings and optimum use of inputs.
