Coke may buy its co-packers in Bhutan

Coca-Cola India’s bottling arm, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCB) is said to be in talks with Bhutan Beverages it co-packers in Bhutan, for acquiring their bottling operations. This is said to be the strategy of the company to re-align its manufacturing capacities.

The plant in question is situated in Pasakha and mainly supplies to the states of Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal, other than the local market. The company is buying back excess capacities of its bottlers in India, which was set up when the company was trying to generate volumes couple of years ago. It has already acquired the bottling unit of its Andhra Pradesh co-packer.
