Lojas Americanas opens 12 new outlets in Brazil

Lojas Americanas has opened 12 new outlets in four states in Brazil on November 30th. The company has invested $11.2 million in these 12 outlets. The stores have given employment for 1,120 people.

One store is located in Rio de Janeiro, another one in Rio Grande do Sul. Four of them have come up in south-eastern Sao Paulo state and two in Minas Gerais. The openings are part of the company’s network expansion strategy, which envisages the opening of 45 new stores in 2006.
