Sacoor Bros exploring opportunities in India

The in-house consultancy of Sacoor Bros, a Portugal-based lifestyle brand in product categories including menswear, womenswear, kidswear and accessories, is exploring opportunities to open stores in India.

Speaking to Indiaretailing on the sidelines of IRF'08, Salim Sacoor, member, executive board, Sacoor Brothers, said: "The consultancy is working and exploring opportunities for our brand in India. As soon as it thinks the market is viable, which may be in another one or two years, we will open our stores."

Sacoor further said that Delhi and Mumbai seem interesting markets for his brand. He added, "We want to be where the money is, where our concept will be a success."

Speaking on the challenges while opening stores in a new country, Sacoor said, "Finding the right people to work for you — partners or the employees — is more important than people who come to your shop. And getting the right people is the single-most challenge for any brand."

At present, Sacoor Bros is operational in countries including Portugal, Spain, Romania, UAE, Belgium and Oman, and will expand in Middle East and Europe soon.
