After the successful launch of its first mall at Indore, Entertainment World Developers Pvt Ltd (EWDPL) has rolled another project – Treasure Island at Raipur. Scheduled to be operational by August 2008, the mall is located at the outskirts of Raipur – three kilometres away from the main city.
Covering the built up area of 6,00,000 sq.ft the development includes a hotel covering one lakh sq.ft alongside the shopping mall, which would have a gross leasable area of 4,00,000 sq.ft. Treasure Island would contain a mix of shopping, entertainment and food spread across four floors. The first three floors are dedicated to fashion brands and retailers with a mix of home decor and consumer electronics retailers. The fourth floor is designed as a complete entertainment zone with multiplex, food court and gaming section for kids. The developers are in talks with PVR Cinemas for the entertainment section, and Big Bazaar and Reliance Retail for the anchor stores. A two-basement level parking space covering one lakh sq.ft will accommodate 1,000 cars and 2,000 two-wheelers at one go. A large atrium space is designed for comfortable movement within the mall and to provide high visibility to the occupiers.
“Raipur is the new capital city of Central India with a 1.8 million-population and proximity to steel capital Bhilai. This untapped market will attract lot of brands and therefore, the consumers,” said Sunil Talwar, VP, commercial and marketing, Entertainment World Developers Pvt. Ltd.
Promoted by Manish Kalani Group, EWDPL was incorporated in the year 1999. Projects worth over Rs.1000 crore for development of shopping malls, residential townships and 5-star hotels are underway at various locations of the country. Besides in Raipur, the company is coming up with shopping centres at Indore, Jabalpur, Baroda, Ujjain and Ludhiana.
