Niche category retailers set to expand

18 Sep, 2008

With growing resonance on product and brand differentiation, two niche category stores ‘Kazo’ and ‘The Bombay Store’ are set to expand their footprints across India. While Kazo runs one of India’s first women westernwear brands in India, The Bombay Store retails lifestyle products.

Kazo currently has stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh and in some parts of national capital region (NCR).

Speaking to Indiaretailing, Deepak Agarwal, chief executive officer, Kazo, said, “We will now expand our business in tier II cities and in the next month we will open store in Bengaluru followed by openings in Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune targeting atleast 30 stores by 2010. We have also planned to expand in Mumbai.”

While Asim Dalal, managing director, The Bombay Store, said, “The brand will mark its presence in every top metro within the next two years. We also want presence in all tourist destinations including Indore, Udaipur, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Mysore.”
