In the last 5 years Elanpro has witnessed a CAGR of around 62 percent, informs Ranjan Jain, Managing Director, Elan Professional Appliances

Last year was a slow year, although we have grown better than the overall market,” says Jain, who is looking forward to the Budget. “We believe that the new government will be able to improve the business sentiments with a business-friendly budget. This should mean 25 to 30 percent more growth for us over last year.”

Elan Professional Appliances (better known for its Elanpro brand) was established in September 2009. Today, it is amongst the ten largest commercial refrigeration solution providers in the country. With a network of over 80 dealers and distributors, the company has gained nationwide presence, and has branch offices, warehouses and satellite offices across 15 states and union territories. The company has recently extended its reach beyond metro cities to B, C and D- class cities, and has a significant and growing presence in the upcountry hinterlands.

Elanpro’s current client list includes Taj Hotels, ITC Hotels, Café Coffee Day, Hyatt, Sarovar Group, Royal Orchid Hotels, Peppermint Hotels, Club Mahindra, Sterling Resorts, Travel Food Services, Copper Chimney, Barbeque Nation, Beer Café, and Daily Bread.

The company is now setting up experience centres in many parts of the country. “We have three partners who have invested in Elanpro Experience centres at Rajkot, Agra and Varanasi and many others have also shown interest. Here, our machines will be showcased,’ says Jain.

The company believes that many chefs and F&B professionals are setting up restaurant chains, besides businessmen from unrelated fields. “This trend will benefit the commercial refrigeration industry in terms of volumes and quality as well, since discerning customers will demand better products. The foodservice industry is expected to grow exponentially in the next few years, which by extension means that equipment suppliers have tremendous scope,” opines Jain.

He informs that 10 to 15 years ago, there were only international brands present in India, along with local fabricators, but there were no organised domestic players. But the market has changed now, as many domestic players with quality accreditations for their products are giving stiff competition. He counts Electrolux, Manitowac, The Middleby and Scotsman amongst his competitors.

Elanpro product range includes Kitchen Refrigeration, Bar Refrigeration (Wine Chillers, Wine Dispensers. Beer & Soda Dispensers); Chest Freezer and Chiller (Chest Freezers, Upright Freezers and Chillers, Supermarket Freezers, Glycol freezers and battery freezers), Minibars, and Coffee Machines (brands from Sweden, Spain and Italy). Jain informs that they will extend their range of the following products:
DC Freezer: These run on DC power that can be supplied by battery or solar panels. Areas that witness erratic electricity or long power cuts have a more dependable solution for refrigeration. It enables foodservice operators to offer frozen food products as well.

Direct Cooling Reach-Ins and Under-counters: This range of direct cooling freezers and chillers with a refrigeration engine are especially designed for Indian ambient conditions and suitable restaurants.

Ice Cube Machines: These offer complete solutions for hotels and restaurants, as they can make ice cubes, flakes, etc. of 15 kgs to 150 kgs in 24 hours.
