Spain pushes for higher visibility of speciality wines in India

The Embassy of Spain in India hosted a wine tasting session on  March 4th  to enhance the visibility and distribution netwrok of Artadi Wines in India. The Spanish winery Bodegas and Vinedos showcased three of their most reputed wines to local importers and distributors present at the event.
The event was an opportunity to raise awareness about the quality of Spanish wines and to open the door for new companies to enter the region.
Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi was awarded the Best Cellar for the year 2014 by Guía Peñín. Moreover, the three wines namely, ARTADI Viñas de Gain White,  ARTADI Viñas de Gain Red and the Viña El Pisón Red, were awarded with 100 points in Parker score for the 2004 vintage.
Inaugurated by the Ambassador of Spain in India, Gustavo Manuel de Arístegui y San Román, the event witnessed more than hundred people from different fields such as specialized media, distributors, retailers, importers and hospitality professionals.
Spain is a millenary country with a strong wine history. Bodegas and Viñedos Artadi is located in the most famous region of Spanish wines, la Rioja Alavesa. Due to their success, they expanded their business production to two other regions, Navarra and Alicante.
They are highly internationalized as their wine is already being sold in U.S.A., Europe and in many Asian countries, such as Hong-Kong and Malaysia.
Speaking on the occasion, Juan Carlos López de Lacalle, owner and winemaker of Artadi, said, “The value of great wines is closely related to the soil and the people.”
