Must Read

Invista, one of the world’s largest integrated producers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers was granted the Ringier Technology Innovation Award 2014 for its Torzen Marathon product.

The Ringier Technology Innovation Award for industrial manufacturing were inaugurated by RingierTrade Media in 2006.The award is now given each year to a select group of innovators in China’s plastics industry. The purpose of the award is to encourage, acknowledge and reward those individuals and companies who have introduced and developed a new idea, a new methodology, a new product or a new technology for manufacturing production efficiency, cost effectiveness, user convenience, which might result in energy savings and more responsible clean manufacturing in the plastics industry.

Torzen Marathon PA66 resin is an improved, patent-pending product that is made to withstand higher temperatures for longer periods of time. Advantages include ease of process ability (due to low melt viscosity) and the possibility to be used in contact with cooling liquids (due to hydrolysis resistance). It’s the ideal solution for engines or other parts that are consistently exposed to intense heat.

Romeo De Castro, Global Product Marketing Manager of Invista Engineering Polymer Solutions said, “The Invista Engineering Polymer Solutions R&D department focused its efforts to obtain these performances: high property retention at temperatures up to 230°C, 50 percent retention up to 3,000 hours at 190°C and improved process ability with melt viscosities 40 to 50 percent lower than conventional polyamides.”

“Torzen Marathon branded PA66 resin with characteristics such as heat-aging performance, low melt viscosity and good hydrolysis resistance gives molders the opportunity, and potential, to design advantaged parts with as-needed collaboration from Invista”, said David Ming, Vice President, Invista Engineering Polymer Solutions of Asia.

Because of these characteristics, Torzen Marathon PA66 resin allows molders the opportunity to design a vehicle that combines lightweight, fuel-efficient components with long-lasting durability.
