Safal strengthens convenience foods offer

Must Read

Safal, the F&V vertical of Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd., has stepped into the convenience food category with the launch of Aloo Tikki after the success of frozen vegetables offered by the brand. The brand has also expanded its frozen vegetable range with the introduction of Aloo Methi and Spinach Blocks with the existing range of frozen peas, sweet corn, mixed vegetables, English carrots, French beans and cauliflower florets.

The initiative has been undertaken to add convenience to cooking because of paucity of time in the fast paced life today, and falls in line with that need for ready to cook snacks and vegetables. Also, frozen vegetables serve as alternative to fresh vegetables ensuring good quality and long durability.

Speaking on the launch, Pradipta Kumar Sahoo, Business Head, Horticulture, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd. said, “ Aloo Tikki is one of the favourite snacks here in India, but we often are worried about the hygiene factor of the snacks available in the market. The launch of Aloo Tikki will ensure hygiene with consistent quality on offer.”

The newly launched Aloo Tikki will be available in consumer packs of 400 gms (10 pieces) and will be available in the 400-plus Safal booths across Delhi-NCR and Bangalore and at general trade. Aloo Methi and Spinach Blocks will be available in attractive consumer packs of 250gm and 200gm, respectively, and will be available across all Safal outlets in Delhi & NCR only.

“The new products are convenient in today’s fast paced life as they don’t require washing, cutting or chopping and are ready-to-cook. Also, when a consumer buys Methi or Spinach, most of the yield is wasted due to cutting and chopping the leaves. These products will bring the same natural taste and will ensure total quantity and quality round the year,” Sahoo added.
