Kohl’s, America’s 2nd largest departmental store is set to move even more aggressively towards its omnichannel strategy. It has launched a slew of initiatives that will take it to the top of the tech innovation ladder, at least for now.
Headquartered in Wisconsin, Kohl’s operates 1162 stores in 49 states. It launched several omnichannel and digital initiatives to shore up its customer experience.
Kevin Mansell, Kohl’s chairman, chief executive officer and president said: “Kohl’s is committed to providing our customers with an easy, convenient shopping experience in a way that is personalized and engaging – no matter how each customer prefers to shop” . “Our digital teams are continually testing new ideas and capabilities to create a world-class omnichannel experience that is seamless across devices. With each evolution, we aim to elevate our offerings for an easy, inspiring shopping experience.”

 
Omnichannel initiatives by Kohl’s:
Store Mode: A new feature is the store mode for Kohl’s mobile app that enables customer to search available inventory of their chosen product and also look for in-store promotion offers. They can also search and apply Kohl’s discount coupons to their purchases.Apple Pay: Customers will have the option to use Apple Pay mobile wallet to make payments for their purchases, within the Kohl’s app. They can also pay across all digital channels with their Visa Checkout account. Another feature being added is that of scanning discount coupons and applying them directly on the mobile app.
Virtual Shopping Bag: Now customers can create virtual shopping bag by integrating digital shopping carts. It can be accessed through phones, tablets or laptops.Purchase Online, Pickup At Store: The store is planning to roll out a service wherein customers can order a product through their mobile app but pick it up at a store close to them.  A New-Look Mobile & Tablet App: Kohl’s will launch a newly redesigned application for smartphones and tablets. Users will find it easier to navigate through the app and find their desired merchandise. The mobile checkout process has also been improved to offer better experience. The tablet will integrate the Yes2You rewards program and Kohl’s mobile wallet for better deals to the customers.
With these initiatives in place, Kohl’s sure to take the omnichannel experience to a new level!
