Patanjali may set up food processing plant in Nizamabad

After touring the turmeric-rich Nizamabad district in Telangana recently Patanjali’s CEO Acharya Balakrishna has shown keen interest in setting up an ayurvedic products manufacturing unit in the district.
Balakrishna visited the district at the invitation of Nizamabad MP K Kavitha to explore the possibilities.

“We will explore possibilities to establish turmeric-based Ayurveda products manufacturing in Nizamabad district where farmers are cultivating turmeric on a large scale,” CEO, Patanjali Ayurveda products, Acharya Balakrishna said.

He observed several crops in Armoor revenue sub division and visited Special Economic Zone (SEZ) area in Lakampally village and interacted with farmers about cultivation of turmeric and yield. He has also gone to the proposed Turmeric Park site in Padgal village.
MP Kavita said the district has enough scope for agro-based industries and that’s why Patanjali group was invited.

“The state government is ready to provide all assistance to the group if it comes forward to establish a unit in the district and a detailed report will be submitted to the group very soon,” she said.
Local MLAs A Jeevan Reddy, Bajireddy Govardhan, B Ganesh Gupta, mayor A Sujata, district-in-charge Collector A Ravindar Reddy were present.
