Britannia Industries reports 5.79 pc increase in consolidated net profit

Bakery and dairy products maker Britannia has reported a 5.79 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 233.95 crore in the second quarter that ended on September 30.
The company posted a net profit of Rs 221.13 crore in July-September period a year-ago, the company said in a BSE filing.
Britannia’s consolidated total income from operations was up 11.45 per cent to Rs 2,456.10 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 2,203.71 crore of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Its net sales in the first half of the current fiscal were up 10.31 per cent at Rs 4,652.72 crore as against Rs 4,217.55 crore in the same period last year.
