Diwali Sales: ShopClues clocks 5x increase in net business

E-commerce major Shopclues, which launched its ‘Diwali Sale’ along with rival Amazon on October 1, announced that the marketplace has clocked a five-fold increase in its net business over the weekends(October 1 and October 2).
The company which aims to rake in the highest profits during this festive sale with its ‘Lowest Price Online Challenge’ tagged as Dhamaka Deals, also said that it witnessed 100 per cent growth in traffic from tier II and III markets which outdid metro cities in terms of visits and orders.

The prime tier 1 geographies were Delhi, Mumbai and Pune; Lucknow, Bhopal, and Patna were the top tier 2 cities; Chandigarh, Agartala, and Salem was the top tier 3 cities. Amongst tier 4 geographies, Panipat, Gandhinagar, and Haridwar demonstrated maximum sales.
Unlike rivals, Shopclues Diwali sale is a 10 day long event.
Apart from massive discounts and deals, the company has also tied up with multiple payment providers such as ICICI Bank, Standard Chartered, American Express, MobiKwik, and CashCare to provide an easy shopping and financing experience to its consumers.
