Big Bazaar the only retail brand among top 10 brands in India: Survey

Kishore Biyani-led Big Bazaar, for the second year in a row, has emerged as the only retail brands to be present among top 10 brands in the Indian market, according to a recent survey held by Market Xcel, a Delhi-based research organization.
Big Bazaar, which ranks at No.9, is rated high on being outstanding, has grown both organically and inorganically and is the leading organized retail brand in the country.
“It has a pan India presence and has set high benchmarks of service and customer experience,” the survey said.
The Market Xcel 2016 survey was part of ‘Brand Asia’, a larger initiative to ascertain top brands in Asia, held by Nikkei, a Japanese consulting and research group. Over 2,800 Indians, half of them women, participated in the survey and ranked their favourite brands on the basis of friendliness, convenience, individuality and innovation.
Even in the year 2015, Big Bazaar was the sole retail brand to be featured among the top 10 brands. Last year, it was ranked at No.8 on the basis of giving value for money products to the consumers and been able to provide products with quality at an affordable price.
With 200 plus stores present across India, Big Bazaar has a strong appeal for the urban middle-class. Over the last few years, Future retail has been transforming into a connected commerce company with multiple strategies and changes.
One of the changes have been moving company businesses(such as , easyday, fbb, Food Bazaar, Home Town, eZone and Foodhall) into digital platforms.
For instance, in November last year the company introduced Big Bazaar GenNxt stores in Noida and Mumbai. The stores integrate superior shopping experiences with innovations such as interactive digital screens, sitdown checkouts and smart customer service. Even the Big Bazaar stores today offers home delivery at multiple locations and a partnership with Amazon, allows customers to order online.
“Soon, they will sport smart trial rooms and endless aisles or kiosks wherein the customer can order from a larger range of merchandise, which may not be stocked within the store. Our stores are also turning into fulfillment centers and merchandise return points for goods ordered online,” Group Chief Executive Officer of Future Group, Kishore Biyani told investors in the company’s annual report (2015-2016).
The company has also recently partnered with Paytm to be present on latter’s online marketplace as an anchor store. The strategic tie up will enable users to shop for everything available in Big Bazaar on Paytm’s e-marketplace and get everything delivered to their doorstep.
