Ram Chandra Agarwal started his business journey in 1994 from Kolkata under the name of Vishal Garments. He has been with Vishal Retail since its inception in 1997. A visionary entrepreneur, and a game-changer in business, Agarwal is known for challenging conventional wisdom and spotting opportunities quickly.
Agarwal has over 25 years of entrepreneurial and business experience. He is the pioneer in value retailing, having brought this concept in India.
In 2001 he had moved to Delhi to launch Vishal Retail, taking it public in June 2007 to raise Rs 110 crore. Vishal Retail was the first retail company in India which successfully operated more than 100 stores in India.
Agarwal has been the Chairman & Managing Director of V2 Retail Limited (formerly Vishal Retail Limited) since July 2001.
For his vision and leadership in starting the retail revolution,  Agarwal has been conferred with several awards at different forums such as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award in 2008 and 4Ps Power Brand Award in 2007.
A leader personifying excellence and execution, Agarwal is never short of creating disruptive next practices and generating exponential value – for the company.
Under his leadership, V2 Retail Limited has scaled newer heights and has become one of the key players in the value retailing segment. He has a vision to offer value retailing in every nook and corner of the country.In this quest under his charistmatic leadership V2 Retail Limited has ventured into untapped areas of Tier II & Tier III cities.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
