Myntra's hiring spree continues, appoints ex- Amazon employee

Online fashion retailer Myntra has appointed Manpreet Ratia as its Chief People Officer and Head of New Initiatives on June 1. Ratia’s last stint was at Amazon India as director and head of last mile operations.
In his new roles, Ratia will be driving key HR functions with a focus on talent acquisition and retention for various levels and verticals. He will also drive new business initiatives which will help strengthen and grow Myntra’s leadership position in the online fashion industry.
In the last three months, Myntra has hired half a dozen top managers to strengthen its leadership team and to expand the scope of its business in India’s fast growing online fashion industry.
“With the diverse experience that Manpreet brings, he will further strengthen the management team and build Myntra’s young, meritocratic and open work culture to the next level. His understanding of the e-commerce business and appreciation of innovative technologies will help Myntra drive new business initiatives & bring delight to consumers,” CEO, Myntra, Ananth Narayanan said in a press release.
Raita brings along 20 years of leadership experience from domains such as Financial Services and E-Commerce in India, United Sates and Asia – with a track record of building businesses, turnarounds and creating value and unique experiences for customers. At Amazon (India) Raita successfully leveraged technology, new business and delivery models to ensure best in class delivery experience for customers and optimum cost models for Amazon.
Prior to Amazon, he spent over seven years with Citibank where he was Managing Director and Asia COO for Citi Treasury and Trade business based in Hong Kong. Prior to Citi, Manpreet spent over eight years with GE where he carried out a variety of leadership roles in India, US and Asia, in Human Resources, Six Sigma and Business Development. Manpreet has also worked with Nestle India, Oberoi Hotels among others, earlier in his career.
Over the past three months, the company has been attracting talent in other verticlas as well. Myntra has brought onboard Sharath Bulusu as VP- Product for strengthening its product team from Housetrip.com in UK.
The company has also recently hired few key individuals as leaders in its product & engineering teams such as Ravdeep Chawla from FreeCharge, Mangesh Dalvi from Xiaomi, Sumit Borar from eBay, Rohit Chauhan from 24/7 and Aditya Singh from Open Table.
