Flipkart gets a Chief People Officer

Flipkart has announced the appointment of Nitin Seth as its Chief People Officer. Prior to joining Flipkart, Seth was the managing director and country head for Fidelity International in India. At Fidelity, he was responsible for the company’s offshore operations across India and Tunisia comprising over 2600 professionals, which is around 40 per cent of the company’s headcount.
Seth, who holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow and an undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi joined Mc Kinsey on completion of his MBA in 1996.
In 2000 he turned entrepreneur with ActiveKarma ventures an Internet company focused on offering innovative health and lifestyle solutions. The key proposition was to use the Internet to deliver customized diet control and fitness programs.
In 2002 he re-joined Mc Kinsey, this time as Director Mc Kinsey Knowledge Center. He held this post till 2010. As Director, Seth conceptualized, developed and led research and analytics services and helped transform McKinsey Knowledge Center from a research hub into a client service innovation hub for McKinsey. In 2010 he moved to Fidelity as Country Head for India.
At Flipkart, Seth will report to Binny Bansal, CEO and co-founder.
