Armed with a graduate degree in Industrial Engineering with PG Diploma in Business Administration and Packing Development, Chander Sain Dudeja has over 35 years of professional experience in multiple manufacturing industries at various functions. He has worked with Escorts, Ranbaxy, Shriram and Dabur in India and abroad, and has also been part of organisations in cosmetics and other FMCG sectors.
Dudeja has held the position of CEO at Gulf Processing Industries LLC since 2010. A competitive player in the UAE’s food processing industry, Dubai-based Gulf Processing Industries LLC (GPI), was established by the Sharaf Group in 2004 as a joint venture and as an integral part of its expansion plans in the region. GPI is a professionally managed, customer driven organization that serves the retail, private label, and food service sectors in the FMCG industry. The company’s flagship brand Herman encompasses a wide range of food product categories and variants, offering a large portfolio of products to service every segment of the market.
In his role as CEO, Dudeja heads a management team with extensive experience in the FMCG industry and oversees all operations and business strategies of the company.
“I enjoy being in retail because this keeps me in touch with both business and consumer markets and it is real high to deliver and see genuine customer satisfaction,” he says.
In the highly competitive and price-sensitive Food/ FMCG sectors, Dudeja believes his biggest professional challenge is to strike an optimal balance between price points and product USPs.
In the Indian context, he believes retailers must find ways to optimise product displays to appeal to consumers, and focus on intelligent marketing and promotions to drive sales,
