UrbanClap aims to serve over 1 lakh customers a day, raises USD 25 mn

Online services marketplace UrbanClap has raised a Series B round of funding of USD 25 M led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Saif and Accel Partners.
Headquartered in Gurgaon, UrbanClap currently offers services in 75+ categories across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Pune. With this infusion, the company plans to strengthen its position and expand geographically. The company is also looking to make some strategic acquisitions.
“Today, we serve 5000 customer requests per day, and have built a base of 20,000+ service professionals – who together represent the gold standard for trusted services in India. Every month, UrbanClap sends them business worth USD200M annually (current run rate), from small carpentry jobs worth INR 200, to a large interior designing assignments worth several lakhs,” Abhiraj Bhal, Co-founder of UrbanClap said.
“By the same time next year, we are aiming to have over 100,000 professionals on the platform and serve over 1,00,000 customers every day. We plan to extend our offering to 25 cities and 100+ categories over the next one year,” he added.
Earlier this year, UrbanClap had raised USD 12 million across two rounds from SAIF Partners and Accel Partners.
