Snapdeal launches fashion forecasting service for sellers

Adding a yet another feather to its sellers oriented initiative, Snapdeal today unveiled Snaptrends – an online future-defining, fashion trends forecasting service for its sellers.
This fashion forecasting service will enable small and medium-sized manufacturers and businesses to get access to fashion intelligence to assist them to produce commercially viable apparel collections, the company said in a statement.
Snaptrends aims to act as a definitive guidebook for fashion and design product development exclusively for Snapdeal seller partners. The trend-tracking and forecasting service will cover both western and ethnic wear, it said.
“Snaptrends will enable us to create value for our customers by bringing them the latest apparel and fashion accessories and to our sellers by empowering them with valuable consumer insights,” Vishal Chadha, Senior Vice-President- Market Development, Snapdeal, said.
With this trends forecasting service, the company will enable Indian fashion manufacturers of all sizes to keep abreast of latest industry insights, giving them a chance to tap the fast growing market, he said.
To make it even simpler for sellers and partners, Snapdeal will break down each step by providing a ready reference that includes trend inspirations, key fabrics, colour direction, and original prints, which will finally culminate in an exclusive collection.
For each season, Snapdeal’s panel of trends analysts, fashion designers, textile designers, and fashion experts will develop an array of well-researched and detailed design innovations.
Snaptrends first fashion trend forecast and collection is designed for the festive season 2015. The theme is ‘Garden of Eden’ that depicts the fanciful mood of a blooming garden through an impeccable range of ethnic wear.
The fashion forecast service will continue to feature newer trends for the coming seasons, the next two being Autumn/Winter’15 and Spring/Summer’16, the company added.
In September this year, Snapdeal has also launched SD Advisor Programme for sellers, under which sellersl get a personal advisor to assist them in business management on the platform.
