Cottage Emporium-Snapdeal store unveils marketplace for India’s artisans

Going a step forward to foster a future ready, efficient digital ecosystem, an MOU has been signed between one of India’s largest online marketplaces, Snapdeal and Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd., a Government of India Enterprise. This mutual accord helps provide a robust platform for online sales and promotion of Indian handicrafts and handlooms. The association saw the launch of online market store that functions under the brand name Cottage Emporium. The store focusses on the representation of India’s rich cottage and crafts heritage and also enables the MSMEs to tap wider opportunities and boost the spirit of entrepreneurship among the artisans and weavers.
The Cottage Emporium stocks and manages a wide variety of handicrafts in the home décor and fashion category such as leather bags, jackets, neck ties, jewellery and other products. Snapdeal will help refine product selection basis insights into customer purchase patterns.
