The journey began in 1999 when Vishal Bhandari left a well-paying job to start his own business enterprise. He decided that he would create and build a business enterprise that will follow the principles of sustainable development. He travelled to the Himalayas to spend some time in nature and during his stay, he met farmers who were growing herbs in their small fields or collecting them from the common forest land. He was impressed by the way these farmers carried their activities with respect for nature and decided to create and build a business enterprise that will follow the principles of sustainable development. This was the starting point of his entrepreneurial journey and the birth of SoulTree.
