Wal-Mart to Launch E-commerce Platform in India in July First Week

Krish Iyer, President and CEO, Wal-Mart India has announced that the retailer will launch its B2B e-commerce platform in Lucknow and Hyderabad in the country in the first week of July, according to a leading daily.

The report mentions that only the trader members will be able to sell through e-commerce. Iyer added that Wal-Mart would look at extending the service to other cities only after six months.

In April, Wal-Mart had announced that it will add 50 wholesale outlets in the country and also go online to start selling goods  to small shopkeepers.
