ResQ Technology Jacket by Woodland

Must Read

Based on the Recco technology, the ResQ jacket from Woodland is an ultimate union of innovation and functional performance. The brand is the first in India to come out with such an innovative concept, as a result of customer feedback. The 50 percent of the collection is made with environment-friendly fabrics.

ResQ technology is a two-part system that consists of a detector used by rescue teams and a reflector worn by skiers. The reflector is permanently attached to the jacket sleeve and does not require batteries or training for usage. Using a directional signal, the refl ectors integrated into the Reccoenabled outerwear direct rescuers to the exact location of the wearer that allow rescue teams to pinpoint a person’s location.

How it works: The detector sends out a highly directional signal and if the signal ‘hits’ a reflector, it is bounced back. The returned high-frequency signal is translated into an audio tone whose volume is proportional to the returned signal, and by means of a volume control, a trained rescue operator can literally go straight to the buried reflector once a signal is detected. With this new technology skiers can be located even up to 30 feet below snow. It is a waterproof, breathable seamless jacket.
