The Shaman College of Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing & Cosmetology was established in 1983 by Shireen Taj Namazi, Owner and Chairperson of the acedemy. Shaman College has tied up with the British Association and the certificates are internationally recognised. It has visiting faculty from the brands like Schwarzkopf, Wella and L’Orèal. Most of the professional salons in and around Bangalore have students from the academy as employees.

The USP of the college is that the classes are kept small to ensure individual attention and growth. The academy helps students with overall training in beauty, hairdressing and clinical therapy.

The Courses

The Shaman College offers a wide range of diploma and certificate training programmes in full-time and part-time formats. Students at the academy are assessed by course work and exams. It offers a six to eight months course of Professional Beauty Course, Applied Aesthetics, Beauty Culture (Facials), Electrolysis and Hairdressing which covers body massage and body technology.

The college also has electrolysis and hair care techniques. Each subject is studied throughout the month to give better understanding and exposure. Cosmetology is a two-day training programme where students are taught how to make herbal cosmetics including different types of face creams, astringent, skin toners and a lot more. There are also courses in Aromatherapy, Salon Management and Teacher’s Training and Professional Make-up.

Eligibility

The applicants must have a high school certificate or equivalent. Admission are give to the students after a personal interview.
