Colette by Colette Hayman, an Australian high fashion, accessories and handbags firm, has entered India via franchising route. It has appointed Gurgaon-headquartered retail start-up Brand Access as its exclusive master franchisee for 10 years to establish large format stores in the country. According to Arka Dhar, MD, Brand Access, the first Colette store will come up in Mumbai soon.
Further, the brand plans 60 outlets in the pipeline over the next two-and-half years. Apart from selling products nearly 40 percent cheaper than competitors, the brand will also bring in new collections every week, a hallmark of Colette in other markets as well.
Originated in 2010, Colette, known for fast fashion offerings including stylish, affordable accessories; handbags and jewellery, has swiftly expanded across Australia and New Zealand and operates more than 90 stores in these markets. Besides India, the retailer is also eyeing Middle East and South African region towards its international expansion.
Brand Access which has earlier aligned with fashion companies namely Colcci, Blake & Co., 9 Fountains and Richards is also mulling to bring in other international clothing and fashion brands to India through franchise partnerships.
