Footwear retailer Metro Shoes has opened its first store in Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Kacheri Road. Spread over 1,000 sq.ft., the outlet stocks over 10,000 pairs of shoes including formal, casual, sports-wear, and wedding footwear for men, women and kids by brands such as Florsheim, Lee Cooper, Red Tape, Bulchee, Fila, Franco Leone, and Ganuchi. The store also houses men’s and women’s accessories such as handbags, wallets, belts, and shoe care products.
Speaking on the occasion, Soheb Arsiwala, Regional Manager, Metro Shoes, said:“Ajmer is an ancient pilgrimage city, where people from all over the world come to experience its rich heritage and culture, therefore making it an ideal location for a Metro Shoes store. We feel that the region’s footwear market has tremendous opportunity and we hope to reach out to a wider base and provide footwear solutions to one and all. Men’s shoes at the store are priced from Rs 1,090 onwards while the starting price for ladies footwear is Rs 590.
Currently present across 175 locations, the first Metro Shoes store opened in Colaba, Mumbai in 1947. As of FY 2012-13, the retailer clocked a turnover of Rs 666 crore.
