Cookie Man, a premium, fresh-baked cookie chain, has opened an outlet in Bangladesh. Located in the Banani area in Dhaka, the store, stocks the entire range of Cookie Man’s products available in India, and offers customers the option to sit in the store while they savour the offerings that include cookies, muffins, donuts and brownies.
Cookie Man’s India operations began over a decade ago with its first store in Spencer Plaza, Chennai. While the brand operates in a very niche segment, it has grown 15-18% year on year, over the last 3 years, and is currently available in 60 stores across 24 cities in India. The Company expects to grow at 20% over the next 3 Years.
Elaborating on Cookie Man’s international expansion, Anupam Saluja, CEO, Australian Foods India Pvt Ltd (an Indo-Australian JV), said, “Our journey in India has been both challenging and rewarding. The Cookie Man’s product line exemplifi es a youthful international palate that appeals to a wide cross-section of people across ages. We feel that this is the right time for us to explore these markets. We are excited about the launch of our first store in Bangladesh and expect to reach sales of Rs 5 lakh per month. In the near future we plan to expand our presence to other locations, including Sri Lanka.”
