Consumer durables retailer Great Eastern Trading Company has opened its 23rd outlet in Kolkata at Nager Bazar. Spread over 10,000 sq.ft., the new store stocks brands such as Sony, Samsung, LG, Philips, Haier, Toshiba, HP, Compaq, HCL, Whirlpool, Godrej, and Panasonic.

Manish Baid, Director, Great Eastern Trading Company, said: “As of now, we are concentrating on Kolkata. We first want to expand to all the key places in the city and then only we will move out to any other town. This Nager Bazar outlet will emerge out to be one of the best performing outlets, its vicinity is really good and its proximity to the Diamond mall, will also help us in attracting more customers.”

The company has invested Rs 1 crore in the store display and is planning to open two more stores in the city by the end of FY 12-13 at Howrah and Sodepur.

Great Eastern Trading Company was founded in 1976 by Nirmal Kumar Baid and Mahendra Kumar Baid. They had opened their first outlet at Old Court House Street, Kolkata.
