Videogames retailer Game4u has opened two stores in Gurgaon at MGF Metropolis mall and Ambience mall seeing the growing gaming demand in Northern India. The retailer now has four stores in the region including existing stores in Ludhiana and Jalandhar.

Speaking on the occasion, Jayont R. Sharma, Chairman and CEO, Milestone Interactive Group, said: “Gaming has emerged as the fastest growing segment in the Indian entertainment space. With growing disposable income in the hands of the country’s youth, we expect the gaming industry to continue maintaining its high growth trajectory.”

He further added that the gaming industry is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 29 percent to reach INR 46 billion by 2016. “Our store expansions have been planned anticipating this huge demand,” Sharma said.

Game4u plans to open 50 new stores across 30 Indian cities in the next three years.

The company also unveiled its rewards program – “Team Elite” to reward the repeat visitors. According to the company officials, the initiative will go live on May 10, 2012 and is expected to attract 25,000 sign-ups in the first three months.

Game4u, the retail arm of Milestone Interactive Group, is a multichannel retailer of PC and video games, game consoles, and related accessories. Game4u’s retail network currently has eight company-operated stores in India and an online store.
