Optical and eye care retail chain Himalaya Optical plans to open 75 stores by 2015 and reach the 100 store count by 2018. To strengthen its presence across India, the company has recently opened three outlets in Barrackpore, Bilaspur, and Patna.

The outlet at Barrackpore has an area of over 650 sq.ft., whereas Bilaspur and Patna stores spread over 600 sq.ft. each. The brands available in these outlets include Cartier, D&G, Rayban, Vogue, Alan Azzaro, Oliver Martini, Phillipe Morelle, Tommy Hilfiger, Prada, Fastrack, and Emporio Armani.

Commenting on the brand’s entry into tier II and III towns, Sarat Binani, Managing Director, Himalaya Optical, said: “After the top metros of India, company is now focussing on tier II and III cities as these cities would drive the investment and growth phase owing to the huge unexplored potential. All these markets lack modern optical retail and remain unexplored, so with the entry of Himalaya Optical in these cities, customers will be exposed to international eyewear brands and trained and qualified eye care professionals. This time Himalaya is all set to change the eyewear fashion trend in these cities as today it is not only about seeing well it is also about looking good!”

He further added that the brand is not only focussed on increasing the number of stores but also looking for overall growth of optical retail industry.
