Thirteenth edition of the two-day Supply Chain and Logistics Conference & Expo 2012 (SCALE 2012) will be held in Bangalore on May 18 and 19, 2012 at Hotel Lalit Ashok. SCALE 2012 will bring together supply chain, logistics, transport, and procurement professionals, CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, and practitioners amongst others.
Organised by Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), the summit will focus on sourcing for profit and address opportunities related to the realm of supply chain and logistics in retail, IT and BPO, healthcare, construction, and automobile industry.
The event will discuss topics such as challenges of accelerating financial returns, containing costs, implementing information technology, and streamlining supply chain management processes.
SCALE 2012 will also host a one-day workshop on May 17, 2012 on E-Procurement and Services Buying.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Channabasappa Herur, Co-Chairman, SCALE 2012, and Chairman – IIMM, Bangalore, said: “The conference is going to focus on improving profitability through supply chain and logistics in India. Take for instance one part of the supply chain – logistics, which is growing at rapid pace. Outsourcing of 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) in India is all set to acquire a size of US$ 90 mn and efficient sourcing and moving operations will make all the difference between winners and losers.”
The first day of the conference will see discussions on retail and other industries about the current scenario, growth areas, and opportunities. The focus will be on identifying the challenges faced in managing projects to deliver on time and improve profitability.
SCALE 2012 is likely to draw a gathering of approximately 300 delegates from India and other countries.
Headquartered at Navi Mumbai, IIMM has 49 branches and 19 chapters having over 10,000 members drawn from public and private sectors.
