TRRAIN Retail Awards Honour 18 Retail Associates on Retail Employees’ Day

TRRAIN, Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India, that has registered December 12 as the Retail Employees’ Day, organised its first annual award ceremony where it felicitated retail associates from all across the country for their exemplary customer service. Eighteen front end sales staff along with their store managers bagged awards at the event.

Among the front end sales staff who received awards with their store managers at the event were Shashikala Darekar and store manager Zillani Vidhani from Vividha Home Fashion, Mumbai; Varun Iyer and store manager Rapheal Rathan from Globus, Mumbai; Jitendra Kalyani and store manager Debashish Chatterjee from Big Bazar, Nashik; Ravi Raj and store manager Awadhesh Yadav from Presto Drycleaning and Laundry, Delhi; Satbeer Kumar Bhakar and director Nitin Karwa from Venkateshwara Distributors, Delhi; Inderjeet Singh and store manager Gurmeet Singh from Basara Tailors, Delhi; Sunil R Sheth and store manager Prasad Tryambak Gore from Gold Plus Jewellers, Bangalore; Deeptha Mylar and store manager Venugopal from Titan Eyeplus, Bangalore; Mythily and store manager R.Stanley Singh from Tanishq, Chennai; Biprasish Ghosh and store manager Anjan Bose from Shopper’s Stop, Kolkata; Tapasi Chakraverty and store manager Indranil Chakravarty from A.M Mobile Telecom, Kolkata; and Subhra Dasgupta and store manager Ramesh Singh from A.M Mobile Telecom, Kolkata.

Jitendra Kalyani was announced as the winner of national gold award, Mythily was given the national silver award and Sunil R Sheth was awarded as the national bronze award winner. The special jury awards were given to Dattatrey Dhise from Lifestyle International, Mumbai; Sunil Kumar from Chunmun Stores, Delhi; and Suresh Ahlawat and store manager Pradeep Sarkar from Shopper’s Stop, Delhi.

Talking more about TRRAIN and its retail awards ceremony B.S Nagesh, founder of the TRRAIN said: “TRRAIN retail awards is just an initiative to empower people in retail. Through this, we not only thank an individual but also recognize him.”

Nagesh also spoke about the initiatives that the institute, which has already completed 5,100 hours of training, has taken up with respect to education, funds, and insurances. He also added that IT training company Aptech that has tied up with TRRAIN will provide content, training and academic support processes to run the training program, while TRRAIN will provide the infrastructure required, be it mobile education centres or classrooms at retail dominant locations like malls and high streets to conduct these programs.

Luxury fashion house Kimaaya hosted a fashion show where 12 CEOs from the retail industry that comprised Rakesh Biyani, Director and CEO of Future Group; Vikram Bakshi, Managing Director of Mc Donald’s; Mark Ashman, CEO of Hypercity Retail India; Bijou Kurien, CEO of Lifestyle Reliance Retail; Shailesh Chaturvedi, CEO of Tommy Hilfiger-India; Esther Lennaerts, Executive Chairman of Presto Drycleaning and Laundry; Ajit Joshi, CEO and Managing Director of Infinity Retail; Manisha Sanghani, Director of Priority Marketing; Rachna Agarwal, CEO of Indus League; Monica Laliwala, Managaing Director of Xsis Promotions India; and Rajesh Ghanshani, Managing Director of Topsons Blue walked the ramp.

The day ended with the Gitanjali Group presenting a live performance by Bollywood singer Parthiv Gohil, who enchanted the audience with his melodious tunes.
