Onward Mobility opens India’s first mobile applications offline retail store

Onward Mobility, India’s mobile application and distribution company, has opened India’s first offline mobile application store “MobiWorld” at Inorbit Mall, Navi Mumbai. The company has also increased its product portfolio by launching MobiGames for mobile games applications.

Spread over 80 sq.ft., the outlet offers applications including MobiCop, MobiSecret, MobiCopy, MobiDND, MobiRecord, and MobiProtect powered by Junos Secure and Bull Guard.

Commenting on the occasion, Arun Menon, Founder and CEO, Onward Mobility, said: “We are very happy to announce the launch of first-of-its-kind VAS concept store where end customers would be able to experience, buy, and side-load mobile apps, games, content, and mVAS. The company also plans to scale up the number of MobiWorld stores all over the country.”

Menon further added: “I believe this platform will help strengthen the ecosystem of MVAS in the country.”

Onward Mobility is a VAS development and marketing company for selling and distributing its own and third party products (applications and VAS) through retail counters across India. It has already tied-up with over 10,000 prominent mobile retail stores all across India to market mobile applications.

The company is present across eight states in the country and has been rapidly expanding its presence. It has also already entered into partnerships with content publishers and intends to roll out their partner’s products such as games, entertainment, music, and education in the next few months.

A VC Funded firm, Onward Mobility Solutions raised INR 180 mn from Indo US Venture Partners and Qualcomm Ventures. The company raised over US$ 1 mn last year from the Mumbai Angels, one of India’s leading groups of angel investors.
