GAS, the Italian fashion and lifestyle brand, is all set to enter the Indian footwear market through their Worldwide Licensee BR.EX based at Switzerland. The international brand has tied-up with Diamond Footcare, Indian footwear retailer, to launch its shoe collection for men in India, targeting the mid- to high-end segment.
GAS’ footwear will offer an Autumn/Winter collection available at its exclusive outlets, modern retail chain stores, footwear specialty shops and multi-brand outlets in all the major Indian cities.
The Indian footwear market is expected to touch Rs. 47,000 crore by 2025, inviting the international brands in the country. The growing fashion consciousness within the Indian market has led international brands like GAS to showcase their products in the country.
Grotto S.p.A. designs, produces and distributes collections of clothing, footwear and accessories with the GAS brand for men, women and children in Italy. The company has plans for overseas expansion, particularly in Europe, Far East and India.
Diamond Footcare will be the exclusive distributor of GAS footwear in India. The retailer’s turnover in footwear for the financial year 2010–11 was around Rs. 120 crore (USD 26.7 mn).
