US based Quiznos to open 30 restaurants in South India

USA based Quiznos, one of the Sub Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) chains with over 4000 stores in over 35 countries, has entered the Indian market in a franchise model with Apollo Elixirs. The quick service restaurant chain plans to open 10 stores in India by the end of the year, in the cities of Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, and 30 by the end of 2012.

Lee Vala, international chief development officer, Quiznos, USA said that after its success in Central and South America, Quiznos plans to grow the brand’s international footprint to more than 40 countries and territories, with target markets in Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia in the next few years. He confirmed that the restaurant chain has already appointed a franchisee for North and West India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohit Mathur, CEO, Quiznos India, said: “We will offer 30 products to our customers through these chain of restaurants. Our range of products start from Rs. 50 for a Sammi and will go upto Rs. 325/- for Premium Sandwich. We have two kinds of restaurants viz Special Venue Restaurants(SVR) and Full restaurant. SVR kind of restaurants are set up Malls. We even plan to set up outlets in educational institutions where students strength is above 10,000.”

Arjun Valluri, chairman of Apollo Elixirs, said that Quiznos has signed a master franchise agreement with Apollo Elixirs for Southern India, Goa and Sri Lanka. The first flagship store of Quiznos in India is all set to open in Film Nagar, Hyderabad followed by the next two opening in September at Inorbit Mall, Gachibowli and Infosys, Pocharam campus. He also informed that upto ten outlets will open in Hyderabad in next one year.

In its 30th year, USA-based Quiznos is an international chain with over 4000 stores in over 35 countries. Its restaurants offer recipes for sandwiches, soups and salads. CNN Money ranked toasty sub pioneer Quiznos as the No. 2 most popular franchise of the past decade in 2010.
