Emami to launch new skincare products in Indian market by May

Following in the footsteps of international brands like Lancôme and L’Oréal, Indian FMCG major Emami has catapulted itself to be a part of the same league. It has recently acquired exclusive rights of a skincare technology from Mibelle Biochemistry and from May 2011 itself is poised to manufacture and sell products under the pure skin brand in India.

The first launch will see a range of face washes in the market, followed by moisturizers, lotions, cleansers and toners. They feel that this is a big opportunity for the company to expand globally.

To make the success sure they have invested Rs20 crore as it A&P spend for the current fiscal. The company has chosen famous celebrities, such as Kangana Ranaut as their brand ambassador, and roped in several Bollywood biggies like Priyanka Chopra, Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan to capture a decent share of the Indian market.

With an existing range of products like Boroplus, Emami Fair & Handsome and with this new development Emami has made it big and now when the competition is with the big International brands, hope Emami could make itself count in the leading names with rest of the international brands.
