Must Read

In line with its plans to grow its international business, Marks and Spencer Plc, one of the UK’s leading apparel retailers, has recently announced the appointment of Jan Heere as its new international director.

Heere is joining Marks & Spencer from Inditex, where he is general manager for Russia. He will report directly to Marks & Spencer’s CEO Marc Bolland.

“We’re delighted to announce that Heere is joining Marks & Spencer as international director. His impressive international experience fits well with the international growth plans we outlined in November,” said Bolland.

With an extensive international background gained over 10 years in retail, Heere brings a wealth of experience to the position. He has worked for Inditex in a number of international roles, most recently in Russia, where in the last five years he has grown Inditex’s presence from 20-odd stores to over 170 stores.

Heere said, “International retail is a real opportunity for Marks & Spencer. I am very pleased to be joining at such an exciting time and look forward to getting started.”

Heere was educated in France and has a business degree from the University of Brussels, Belgium.
