QSR chain Subway, which specialises in sandwiches and salads, plans to take its store count to 250 by the end of 2011 and 530 by the end of 2015.
Speaking exclusively to IndiaRetailing, Manpreet Gulri, development agent, Subway Systems India Pvt Ltd, said, “We plan to have 530 outlets by the end of 2015. We are concentrating on cities where we feel we can open multiple restaurants so they receive proper logistics and operational support."
In FY’12, Subway will open 65 new outlets. This, Gulri said, will entail an investment of over Rs.40 crore.
Subway entered India in 2001 with its first restaurant in Delhi. It currently has 197 franchised outlets in India.
