Must Read

Kicking off its expansion drive, Delhi-based premium frozen yoghurt chain Cocoberry has opened five new stores; four of these have come up in tie-ups with Fortis Healthcare, one of the leading chains of private hospitals, and multiplex chain DT Cinemas.

“We are excited to continue our growth in India. Apart from tying up with companies such as Fortis Healthcare and DT Cinemas, we are aggressively exploring the franchise route,” says G S Bhalla, founder and CEO, Cocoberry.

In the initial phase of expansion, Cocoberry has opened outlets at Fortis La Femme, GK-II, New Delhi; Fortis Mohali, Fortis Gurgaon and DT Cinemas, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The frozen yoghurt chain has also opened an outlet at Bardez in Goa which is independent of its understanding with Fortis Healthcare and DT Cinemas.

Subsequently, Cocoberry will be opening outlets at other Fortis centres and DT Cinemas in a phased manner.

Cocoberry will now focus on the Bangalore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Pune markets. In the next three years, the company plans to invest close to Rs.120 crore on its expansion across India. It is also exploring options to expand operations in the international market and is in advanced stages of finalising locations in some of the Southeast Asian countries and the Middle East.

Cocoberry, which launched its first outlet in New Delhi in February 2009, currently has presence in cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Goa.
