Walmart, the world’s largest retailer by sales, is all set to launch its outlets in Godfrey, Illinois, and Savannah, Georgia, on January 26. The Godfrey Walmart will have an area of 1,47,000 sq.ft, while the one in Savannah, which will come up on 14030 Abercorn St, will be spread across an area of 1,84,212 sq.ft. To be opened on January 26, the new stores will employ approximately 300 associates each.

“The brand new Walmart store will be an asset to our community in many ways, including job opportunities and financial impact,” said Godfrey Mayor McCormick. “The large investment Walmart has made in Godfrey shows a belief in and commitment to our community which we are very thankful for,” he added.

In recent months, Walmart has taken major steps to refresh its stores, merchandising and customer experience. The improvements have come together at the company’s newest stores, such as the Savannah Walmart, with fast service, cleanliness and a friendly shopping experience.

“The layout of the store is easy to navigate, which will save our customers time as they shop for everyday necessities,” said David Henry, store manager, Savannah Walmart. “By grouping the products that our customers most often purchase, including health and beauty and pet supplies, we are making one-stop shopping even easier,” he added.
