IMG Fashion ties up with JFW

Must Read

US Talent agency, IMG Fashion, has signed a five-year agreement with the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFWO), which organises and manages Tokyo Collection Week held bi-annually in Tokyo. In their partnership, IMG Fashion will act as JFWO’s sole representative for the execution of sponsorship rights.

JFWO was created to strengthen the competitive power of Japan’s textile and fashion industry and to encourage growth. The event brings together manufacturers in the textile and fashion industries, fashion designers and distributors from across Japan, greater South East Asia and the world.

“This is a very exciting partnership,” said Peter Levy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Fashion, Worldwide. “Tokyo Collection Week is one of the more significant fashion events and has reached a stage in its life cycle where it is capable of achieving substantial growth.”

Akira Baba, Chairman of the JFWO, added, “On behalf of the JFWO we are delighted to be working closely with IMG Fashion. Its international network and understanding of our business objectives were integral considerations in forming this partnership.”

Last season Tokyo Collection Week welcomed over 30,000 visitors and staged 44 shows as part of its official schedule in Tokyo Midtown. The 11th edition of Tokyo Collection Week will take place from October 18 to 22 to showcase the S/S 2011 season.
