GARTEXMA 2010 holds Industry Night

GARTEXMA 2010, an exhibition to showcase garments, textile machinery and accessories, in association with Community of International Sewing Machine Industry, India (CISMI) and Dara Projects, announced its grand opening at Bombay exhibition centre in Goregaon, Mumbai.

The exhibition will see participation from textile and apparel machine suppliers to showcase the latest technology for different processes like stitching, cutting, finishing, drying, testing, embroidery, spinning, knitting, water treatment solutions and more. Besides machinery accessory suppliers, consultants and fashion institutes from all over India will also exhibit their products.

Spread over an area of 10,000 sq mt, Gartexma 2010 is a first-of-its-kind exhibition that has been organized keeping in mind international standards and benchmarks.

“The focus of the show is to offer a world-class business environment to both participants and exhibitors so that new business opportunities are created for relevant sectors associated with this industry,” said Manjeet Singh Bakshi, CEO, Gartexma. The exhibition will see 150 participants from India and several international technology suppliers from regions such as Italy, China, Korea, Japan and Switzerland showcasing their quality-oriented and efficient-production systems.

“Western regions like Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Bhiwandi, Solapur, etc have always been important centres for textiles and home furnishings. Over the last few years, more than 100 processing units and 30,000 garment units have come up in and around Mumbai. Already, 1200 export-oriented units are registered with AEPC and are from Gujarat and Maharashtra. Seeing the potential of these areas, GARTEXMA, the Garment and Textile Machinery & Accessories Show was organized for the first time in Mumbai,” added Bakshi.

The exhibition is supported by well-known associations like Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), CISMI, Texprocil, Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and China Sewing Machine Association (CSMA and Textile Export Promotion Council of India (TEXPROCIL).

Gartexma 2010 has an interesting feature – an extravagant Industry Night which will be held on 11th October at The Leela. On the occasion, Secretary Textiles, Rita Menon and Chairman of AEPC, Premal Udani will felicitate the veterans of the textile and apparel industry for their power-packed contribution to the sector. A panel discussion on the growth and development of the textile industry will also be held. The evening will be followed by a dinner party hosted by eminent machinery players like Sunder Belani, MD, Ramsons, H.S Passricha, MD, Navyug Sewing Machines, ML Jain,MD, FDM, Aman Agarwal, MD, Bombay Rayon Fashions Limited and Deipak Doshi, Imperial Sewing Machines.
