Benetton Group booms `Opening Soon…`

Must Read

Italian fashion retailer Benetton will begin work on a series of new stores in Russia, Mongolia and Azerbaijan. The plans demonstrate the Benetton Group`s investment into in the future to keep abreast with the changing and growing retail market.

Some of the new stores in particular are part of the `Opening Soon…` programme, which applies new architectural and design ideas to retail spaces, combining modernity with a respect for the history of the building and for the environment.

This programme of new openings in Russia, Mongolia and Azerbaijan reaffirms the Group`s capacity to grow around the world, strengthening the constant thread running through Benetton that binds global to local, the future to the past, and innovation to tradition. In developing this retail network, special attention was paid to architecture and design, which have always been an integral part of Benetton`s business culture.

Benetton continues to work in close partnership with major architects and designers including Tobia and Afra Scarpa, Tadao Ando, Alberto Campo Baeza, Piero Lissoni, who designed the flagship store in Istanbul and, most recently, the new look of the London Oxford Street store, Paris and Milan stores, and Massimiliano Fuksas, who is completing a large, original store in Rome.

Today, the Benetton Group is present in 120 countries around the world. Its core business is fashion apparel: a group with a strong Italian character whose style, quality and passion are clearly seen in its brands, the casual United Colors of Benetton, the glamour oriented Sisley and the leisurewear brand Playlife. They produce over 150 million garments every year. Its network of around 6,000 contemporary stores around the world, offers high-quality customer services and generates a total turnover of over 2 billion euro.
