The Kolkata-based FMCG major, Emami, is gearing up to capture the winter care market with a new tvc for its famous brand – Boroplus. The advertisement, which is directed by filmmaker Raj Kumar Hirani and is likely to go on air in a day or two, has been created keeping in mind the kaala tika (evil eye) belief, which helps ward off evil. After having created one of the most expensive ad campaigns in 2008 for its Himani Fast Relief cream, the firm is hoping to create the same magic this time around. “Like a kaala tika is used to ward off the evil eye, the theme of our new ad campaign is Boroplus ka safed tika to handle the havoc that winter wreaks on the skin,” says Harsh Agarwal, Director, Emami.
