The three major general insurers, , and Apollo Munich, are now offering heavy discounts to their policy holders in various spas, gyms, yoga institutes, diagnostic centres and health food retailers. The insurance firms have tied up with various health and wellness service points to offer benefits to their customers. For instance, General Insurance’s new policy ‘Jiyo Fit’, launched in association with , allows a policy holder to open a zero-balance savings account with the bank. “The debit card will get the policy holder a discount on products and services from partners. It also doubles up as a loyalty card. If he/she enrolls in a partner gym, a 30-35 percent discount on the card rate can be availed. A policy holder can also redeem the accumulated points against certain products,” says , CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. On the other hand, the offers will keep changing at General Insurance. For example, one of the offers at , is a 10-15 percent discount on various tests at partner diagnostic centres. “Such tests can detect illness at an early stage so that it can be arrested soon,” says , Head – Health, Customer Service and Accident, General Insurance.
