New-age wellness centre ‘Svastii’ opens in Mumbai

Must Read

Eyeing the growing wellness industry in India, Landmarc Leisure Corporation Ltd has recently launched a modern, hi-tech wellness centre, ‘Svastii’, in Mumbai. The 3,500 sq.ft centre in Powai promises to offer unique and world-class wellness services to its customers.

Commenting on the opening of Svastii, Paulomi Dhawan, MD, Landmarc Leisure Corporation Ltd, said, “The wellness industry in India is about Rs.11,000 crore and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 20-25 per cent till 2012. The idea behind opening Svastii is to give something unique and international to people who have travelled all over the world and have been relying mostly on five-star hotel spas in India.”

Even if the name Svastii (meaning where goodness exists, wellness will exists) is ancient, the look and feel of the spa is contemporary, with all white interiors, cascading water falls, crystal chandeliers that resemble water droplets and pebbled pathways. The chanting of mantras and fresh marigolds add to the ambiance.

Treatments
This new-age unisex wellness destination has separate therapy rooms for various treatments. The ‘Express Room’ offers quick-fix services such as reflexology and hand and shoulder massages for the hurried executives. Svastii also offers holistic treatments like chakra healings, lomi lomi and potli massages.

A separate room caters to skin treatments, such as anti-ageing, with hi-tech machines and gadgets. The white and purple salon offers hair and skin services with a dedicated salon staff. There is also a personal counseling room.

Retail Corner
Svastii has a designated retail area that sells international beauty and skin care products, styling products, health food and organic snacks.

Explaining the business model, Paulomi said, “In the salon business, you need footfall drivers, the express treatments and salon, and footfall preservers, the spa. That’s the business model. There will be more Svastii centres in the near future.”

Commenting on the choice of location, Paulomi said, “Powai was the ideal choice as it has a well-travelled population and needed something as international as Svastii. We plan to open a wellness training academy soon.”
