The Collective, a super-premium and luxury lifestyle brand from Madura Garments, is all set to open its first Delhi store. The 17,500 sq.ft store at the Ambience mall, Vasant Kunj, will be inaugurated on September 5.
Stressing that retail is all about location, Ram Iyer, COO, The Collective, informs IndiaRetailing, “The first criterion is right catchment. Vasant Kunj is very promising, as it has both the ‘old’ rich and the ‘nouveau’ rich segment. Having zeroed in on right catchment, the next step is to partner with the right mall and select a store location with the right kind of brand adjacencies.”
On why The Collective chose the Ambience mall, Vasant Kunj, for its first Delhi store, Iyer says, “The mall has an interesting mix of premium, super-premium and luxury brands, with a strong food and entertainment component.” The company has invested Rs.7.5 crore on its Delhi store.
The Collective currently has two operational stores – at Palladium mall, Mumbai and Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore. Both stores are 18,000 sq.ft in area.
The brand plans to enter other cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad and Chandigarh. “We are committed to building this business with financial prudence, as opposed to irrational exuberance. Our focus is to achieve same store profitability,” says Iyer.
The Collective offers one of the world’s best fashion brands for men and women in apparels and accessories. In men’s apparel, it has leading brands such as Hackett, D&G, Armani Collezioni, Hugo Boss, True Religion and 7 For All Mankind. For women, The Collective houses brands such as Juicy Couture, D&G, Love Moschino, Lulu Guinness and Michael Kors, among others.
