Toy retailer ELC enhances presence in NCR

UK-based children’s toy retailer Early Learning Centre (ELC), which has a tie-up with DLF Brands Ltd, has launched three new stores in National Capital Region (NCR). The stores have come up at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon (1,443 sq.ft); Indira Gandhi International Airport-Terminal 3 (829 sq.ft) and the domestic airport-T3 in Delhi (841 sq.ft).

Timmy Sarna, CEO, DLF Brands, said, “With the launch of three new stores, we have increased the store count to six in NCR. To further strengthen our presence in the Indian market, we plan to open more stores in Kolkata, Bangalore, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, and Aurangabad.”

Sandeep Chadha, brand head, India, ELC, said, “The Indian toy market is estimated to be around Rs.1,500 crore and is set to grow at 25 per cent per annum. There are about 5,000 different designs available in India and about 50 new designs are introduced every month to meet consumers’ taste.’’

ELC currently has eight stores in India – five in Delhi and one each in Gurgaon, Kolkata and Bangalore – covering a total retail space of 7,299 sq.ft.

Also, ELC has over 400 international stores in more than 35 countries.
